Despite the adverse market conditions resulted from the COVID-19 pandemic in 2021, BAIC achieved steady progress in comprehensive strength and carried out the strategy of High-tech, Innovation and Distinctiveness to advance with great vitality.

In 2021, BAIC resolutely pushed high-quality development. With high recognition from the customers, Arcfox series enjoyed fast sales growth overseas. BEIJING organized the “Battery swap” initiative, while BAICORV won the first prize of the scientific & technological progress award. Beijing Hyundai reported an increase in the margin contribution of products, and Beijing Benz and Benz Sales overcame the shortage of chips and sold 570,000 sets in total. With all undertakings achieving breakthroughs, BAIC fulfilled the objective of making a good start for the 14th Five-year Plan period.

In 2021, BAIC saw several brands and products taking the lead in buzz volume, ranking among the first auto groups by comprehensive strengths.

As a major annual award on “China Auto Leaderboard”, “2021 Aggressive Auto Group” was presented by Zhang Jun, Deputy Direct of cctbn.com. At the lively event site, when receiving the award, BAIC’s Brand Management Department Director Cui Peng expressed thanks to the sponsor for its support. In 2021, focusing on the mission of “building a strong and independent BAIC”, BAIC started profound changes in all aspects. The efforts resulted in a good momentum in overall operation, further increased profitability, significant improvements in key indicators, concentration of resources in the primary business and enhanced capability in independent innovation. In 2022, BAIC will step up efforts in high-quality development, develop new energy vehicles in an all-around way, and work with industrial peers to take China’s auto industry to a new level.

Launched in 2016, “China Auto Leaderboard” collects, monitors and keeps the data about all auto brands, models, enterprises and characters, measures the buzz volume accessible to consumers, ranks all industrial participants, and hence develops a list.

The leaderboard consists of the daily list, monthly list and annual list, which respectively rank all auto companies by communication on a daily, monthly and annual basis. When a year is over, it will rank all companies and models by the total buzz volume in the past year, and develop the annual list. The annual list includes four parts, i.e. Enterprise List, Brand List, New Model List and Model List.

The Enterprise List ranks auto enterprises by buzz volume in the past year, with the top one honored with the “Annual Enterprise Award”.

The Model List ranks mainstream models by the buzz volume in the past year, with the top one honored with the “Annual Model” award.

The awarding ceremony for the annual list of “China Auto Leaderboard” is usually held on the 14th day of the first lunar month, with each session drawing more than 800 participants from the auto industry online.
